The scientific surveys of fauna and flora carried out at the site allowed us to identify a wide diversity of birds, plants, trees and shrubs present in La Constancia.
Hence the field's suitability for the development of environmental education projects, such as educational days with schoolchildren and visits from study groups.
Since 2014, La Constancia has welcomed students from schools, colleges, universities, and community members interested in learning about the ranch's agroecological garden and orchard. During the tour, visitors learn about its history, botany, landscaping, and the key concepts of agroecological production, which seeks to ensure the sustainability of natural resources such as soil and water.
In January 2020, a survey was conducted to obtain primary information, study the forest's role as a wildlife refuge within an agricultural and livestock production matrix, and generate proposals for comprehensive management of the site.
Request reportLa Constancia contributes to a closer relationship with nature and promotes better and more accessible botanical and environmental education through botanical tours. It also promotes the scientific study of trees and other woody plants.
Our story begins with Don Giovanni Biocca, an Italian immigrant who arrived in Argentina in 1872. The then twenty-year-old settled in the town of San Vicente, northeast of the province of Buenos Aires.
Giovanni was the father of ten children, to whom he instilled the value of perseverance. One of his grandsons, Hector, learned this virtue and named his property "La Constancia."
A field that began with the goal of livestock and agricultural development but, over time, gave rise to a unique forest with a singular variety of forest and bird species, open to the community and anyone who wants to connect with nature.
Hector dedicated much of his life to the introduction and adaptation of plants and trees from different regions, and he designed and planted—together with his children—each of the park's species.
Today, forty years later, La Constancia boasts colorful parks that strive to become a legacy for humanity. Currently, it is the grandchildren of Héctor and María Genoveva who keep the essence of La Constancia alive.
